The Dublin Angling Initiative assisted a local primary school in Rush, Co Dublin to achieve their Green Flag status with an introductory course in sea angling recently. Introductory courses on all types of fishing are run annually by the DAI.
Coming to terms with bait
The children learnt all about the different types of bait for sea fishing including crabs and ragworms from sea angling expert, Brian Cooke and the DAI coordinator, Des Chew. From the sailing club at Rush and blessed with our early summer weather in April, the children dug for their own bait, perfected their casting techniques and thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the course and the fabulous resource they are lucky to have so near their school.
